Discover where refurbished truly shines.

Refurbished isn't for everyone, and we get it

In fact, we get surprised looks from customers when we steer them towards buying from official channels.

Refurbished options should not apply just because of cost and lead time advantages. Of course they do, but considering just these two only means missing the forest for the trees.

Going for refurbished should be a conscious choice. Take time to decide if it really can work for you. As our customers can attest to, when deployed correctly under the right circumstances, refurbished delivers true business value.

Incomplete purchases and undersized BOMs

Nothing screams panic and disaster when you find out that a part of the deliverables is missing.

It is easy to miss the small things. Think stacking cables, transceivers and power supplies. Disks and memory. Network modules. Essentials that matter.

For end users, it is difficult to ask for budget to cover such shortfalls. Redirecting approved budgets from other projects can be challenging, especially if there isn't a lot of spare funds that can be reallocated.

For resellers, it could mean making a loss on the project. Not just from incurring out-of-pocket for missing items (end users don't pay for resellers' mistakes), but also from possible liquidated damages due to project delays.

In both scenarios, the situation gets worse when deployment is round the corner. It gets extremely stressful.

Refurbished options are available at a fraction of what official channels charge. Get your infrastructure delivered and complete in days, not months.

Uptime over features

When we subscribe to an internet service, are we more concerned about availability over what hardware the service provider uses?

Unless the required feature is so essential, most hardware - even those one or more generations back - will be able to meet most users' requirements.

Refurbished is an excellent choice for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) where the underlying infrastructure is transparent to the end user.

Maintenance spare

Whether you're supporting your own or your customers' infrastructure, it is often cheaper to swap and replace a faulty piece of hardware than to wait for engineers to come onsite.

Resolution for certain parts of the infrastructure can be as fast as 10 minutes. For example, if a power supply fails, a support engineer just needs to replace with a working unit - and that 10 minutes include visual (LED lights) and CLI / GUI checks, such as running show power or show environment commands.

Legacy equipment that runs critical applications are excellent platforms that can take advantage of refurbished - there is simply no way to buy these parts from the manufacturer, since legacy hardware have already reached end of sale.

Not at edge

Think of the access switches deployed several years ago. When was the last time you updated the firmware on those switches?

If it isn't broken, don't touch it.

Since refurbished options don't grant access to firmware updates - and the L2 switches don't really need the updates anyway - consider using them to deliver performance while reducing costs.

Budget-friendly for all economic situations

Sometimes, cost is just the only reason driving purchases.

Expanding part of your network but having challenges around budgets? Keep your options open by considering refurbished. Most of the time, our customers come to realize that refurbished deliver the same level of performance that the organization requires.

Want to expand your service offering in your role as a MSP, while keeping costs low? Support your infrastructure with a combination of new and refurbished hardware. As an example, we see many service providers utilizing preowned transceivers to keep costs low while maintaining uptime and performance that their users have come to expect.

There is no need to purchase the latest-and-greatest while utilizing only a subset of the features that refurbished hardware can provide.
